When We Need Answers Now

“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.”  (Ephesians 1: 17 NIV)

I find life gets pretty confusing at times.  Relationship stresses, unexpected challenges, setbacks, worries.

So many questions we’d love for God to answer but the connection keeps dropping.

So we turn to the church and if your experience in anything like mine at times you come out even more confused.

For some churches their answer is ritual.  For others free flowing spirited-filled worship.  For some the charismatic gifts.  For others literal word by word scripture teaching.  And for some social reform programs.

I feel dizzy just thinking about it.

So what do we do?  Just give up and admit there’re no answers?  Keep stumbling along hoping for some daylight?

There are many answers to this lifelong question.  Life is complex.

But at the core it’s realizing, actually even more, it’s anticipating that God will answer your questions.

It’s expecting what he promises here.

He is glorious and will shine his light into your dark places.

He will give you his wisdom of how to live effectively.

He will reveal specific answers to your specific needs.

He will literally open up doors and give you the guidance you need when you need it.

Why?  Because he wants us to live with him.  He loves us more than we can ever imagine.  And as we experience him guiding us, comforting us, giving us answers, opening doors we’ll trust in him even more.  And we begin to love him with just a smidge of the love he swamps us with.

That’s his plan.   Seems pretty good from my side.

How have you experienced God’s wisdom and specific guidance?
