“He does not ignore the suffering of the poor; he does not turn away from them, but answers when they cry for help.”  (Psalm 22: 24)

Father,

   When I’ve been hurting you’ve been with me healing,

      And when I cry for help you are with me answering.

   Be with me now, hear my prayers, answer my crys.

      And give me peace in expecting and confidence in seeing.

“To you my forefathers cried out and were saved; they trusted you and were never disappointed.” (Psalm 22: 5)

Father,

   Thank you that when I’ve cried out in need you have always answered,

      When I trust in you for your answers I am never disappointed.

   Today, be with me in my needs, answer my prayers with your power.

      Help me to ask for what you delight to give, and to expect what you promise.

Father,

   You were there for my parents answering their prayers, and you have always answered mine.

      So today when faced with uncertainty I will be confident and trust you to be faithful again.

   Be with me in the challenges, protect me from evil, answer my cries.

      Fill me with faith when mine fails and vision to see you when I am blind.

Lord,

   When my power is not enough, your power is more than enough.

      When I feel overwhelmed, I know you are never overwhelmed.

   Bring your power into my weakness, and your holiness into my fears.

      Give me peace in expecting your power, and praise in seeing it.
