“The Lord is righteous, he loves what is perfect, and those who seek him will see his face.” (Psalm 11: 7)

We may face the imperfect but in the midst can see God’s face.

Father,

   Some days I feel overwhelmed by what is imperfect,

      Thank you that in the midst I can see what is perfect.

   Help me to see you in the midst of all I don’t want to see,

      Forgive me for focusing on the problems rather than your presence,

      Let me see you work what is perfect in that which is not.

Amen

“The Lord is in his holy temple; he rules the earth from his throne in heaven.” (Psalm 11: 4)

Earthly rulers may seem powerful and fail; but God’s power is ultimate and won’t.

Lord,

   The powerful seem so far away from your righteousness,

      Yet, you rule with unlimited power and righteousness.

   Forgive me for fearing earthly powers and failing to trust in your power,

      Instead help me to rest in your power and forget about earthly powers,

      Let me see your power work and overcome those powers which work against you.

“Lord, you hear the prayers of the helpless; you encourage them and answer.” (Psalm 10: 17)

When you feel most helpless you’ll see God’s power most clearly.

Lord,

   Some days the challenges seem overwhelming,

      Yet, I know in those times I will see your power most clearly.

   Bring your power into my problems,

      Forgive me for focusing on them more than on you,

      Fill me with courage so I may see your answers.

“Lord, the helpless commit themselves to you and you help them.” (Psalm 10:14)

At times you may feel powerless but that’s when you see most clearly God’s powerfulness.

Lord,

   Thank you that when I feel weakest I know you are strongest.

      That when I feel powerless I see your power clearest.

   Forgive me for worrying in my powerlessness.

      Help me instead to have confidence in your powerfulness.

      And to see your unlimited power released in my weakness.
