Greatest in the Kingdom

“And Jesus said, ‘Unless you change your attitude to one like a little child you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.  But whoever trusts like a little child will be the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.” (Matthew 18: 3-4)

The proud reject God’s kingdom.  The humble accept it and will be the greatest in it.

Life Forever

“Jesus told his disciples, ‘The Son of Man will be betrayed and killed by those who hate him.  But on the third day he will be raised to life.'” (Matthew 17: 22-23)

As Jesus died and, by God’s power, was raised to life so are those who trust in him.

Miracle Working Faith

“Jesus said, ‘I assure you, if you have faith, even the size of a tiny mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move!’ and it will move.  Nothing will be impossible for you.'” (Matthew 17: 20)

Even the smallest amount of faith can unleash the greatest of God’s miracles.

Don’t Be Afraid

“Jesus came to them, touched them and said, ‘Get up.  Don’t be afraid.'” (Matthew 17: 7)

When you are Jesus’ follower, no matter what you face, he says to you, “Don’t be afraid.  I am here.”

Learning the Secrets of the Kingdom

“This is my own dearly loved son, who I am delighted with.  Listen to him!” (Matthew 17:5)

Others may be prophets but there is only one true son.  So listen to him and learn the secrets of the kingdom.

Living in the Kingdom

“I assure you, some here will not die before they see the Son of Man coming in the glory of his kingdom.” (Matthew 16:28)

Jesus is lord of lords and king of kings.  And we live in his kingdom by faith alone.

Our All Powerful God

“The Son of Man will come with his angels in the glory of his Father, then he will give all of his promised gifts to those who have trusted in and walked with him.” (Matthew 16: 27)

Those who oppose God may be powerful but God is more powerful still.  And he will overcome them to give his gifts to those who trust him.

Eternal Life is Supreme

“What benefit is it if someone gains everything this life has to offer yet gives up eternal life?” (Matthew 16: 26)

Working to get everything may seem important.  Yet, gaining eternal life, through faith, is supreme.

Finding Real Life

“Whoever tries to give themselves life will lose it, but whoever trusts me to give them life will find it.” (Matthew 16: 25)

Paradoxically, when you give up striving to find life and simply trust then you will discover it.

More Than Enough

“Everyone ate as much as they wanted.  Afterward they filled seven large baskets will all the leftover food.” (Matthew 15: 37)

When we trust God for our needs he surprises us with abundance.
