Unlimited Power

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit indwells you.” (Acts 1:8)

We can see the miraculous because God’s power in us is limitless.

Father,

Thank you for your unlimited power that surrounds and fills me.

Help me live in your limitless power.  Fill my life with your limitless miracles.

Amen

Grace and Love for our Failures

“God is filled with mercy and grace.  Not easily angered, rich in love.” (Psalm 103:8)

We may fall short.  God’s love and grace makes up the distance.

Father,

Thank you for your love and grace.  That when I fail you love me anyway.

Help me to rest in your grace.  And fill me with your love.

Amen

Your Eternal Victory

“Death has been swallowed up in victory.” (1 Corinthians 15:54)

Death, the great divider, has become the great reuniter.

Father,

Thank you that in you I no longer need to fear death.   But can look forward to the reunion.

Give me your peace when facing a loved one’s passing.  And thinking of my own someday.

I will live in the confidence you give, that death truly is swallowed up in victory.

Amen

A Straight Path Through the Confusion

“I will go before you and make the crooked paths straight.” (Isaiah 45:2)

We may have confusing paths to walk.  But God will make them straight.

Lord,

Thank you that no matter how crooked my path, you are leading me straight through.

Lead me in the confusion.  Help me recognize your path.  Let me see your guiding hand.

And I will go forward along your straight path because I know you are leading me.

Amen

Free At Last

“There is now no condemning judgement for those who rest in the grace of our Lord Jesus.” (Romans 8:1)

We are free from judgement not because we’re perfect enough.  But because Jesus was.

Lord,

Thank you that in you I am truly free.  Free from judgement.  Free to live life fully.

Give me your freedom.  Help me rest in your grace.  And live in your peace.

And I will go out filled with your confidence knowing I am covered by your love.

Amen

Finding Unimaginable Rest

“For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

When you are most troubled God’s rest becomes most real.

Father,

Thank you that in my most desperate times, when I’m most distressed, you bring me your rest.

Give me your peace beyond understanding.  Fill me with your rest beyond imagination.

And I will escape from the shadows into your glorious light.

Amen

You are Set Free

“You are free from condemnation when you live in the forgiveness and grace of Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1)

Jesus,

Thank you that I’m free from the tyranny of condemnation.  Forgiven and accepted by your grace.

And I can live freely in your love and grace never again fearing condemnation.

Give me your freedom.  Fill me with your peace.  Help me rest in your grace.

Forgive me for my past failures.  And for, at times, not resting in your forgiveness.

Fill me with confidence in your grace, no longer plagued by the tyranny of fear.

I praise you for your grace that has forgiven my past and sets me free for the future.

Amen.

Dawn in the Midst of the Night

“The path of those who walk with God is like the dawn which shines brighter and brighter.” (Proverbs 4:18)

Lord,

Thank you for always leading me out of the darkness and onto your brightly lit path.

And that no matter how dark at times the night you always bring dawn.

Guide me along your bright path into all you’ve promised me.

Too often I’ve worried in the darkness, been afraid in the night.

Remind me in the night that your dawn is coming and your light will soon be shining.

I praise you that you continually lead me into the dawn and on your perfect path.

Amen

You are the Heir of God

“We are heirs, heirs of God our Father and co-heirs with Christ.” (Romans 8:17)

Father,

Thank you for making me your child.  And giving me all the privileges of being your heir.

As your heir you’ve promised me every gift that you gave to your son Jesus.

I pray that you give me all of those gifts specially given to your children.

Sometimes I expect so little.  Too often I don’t see myself as your child.

Help me to see myself as you see me.  And anticipate the inheritance you offer.

And I praise you for all you have given me and will give me as your heir.

Amen

You Will Be Blessed Beyond Imagination

“No one has seen or heard or even imagined all that God has prepared for those who love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)

Father,

Thank you for all you’ve given me.  So often greater than anything I ever imagined.

And though I may not be able to even imagine what you offer I look forward to it.

Let me see and hear and experience those blessings I can’t even imagine.

Forgive me for so often limiting you by my own limits of imagination.

Help me look, listen and imagine all the amazing gifts you have for me.

And I praise you in anticipation of those blessings beyond what I can even imagine.

Amen
