“Lord, give me your mercy for I feel faint, heal me for I feel in agony.” (Psalm 6: 2)
When we come to the end of our strength that’s when we find God’s.
Lord,
Sometimes I feel at my end, so weary I can’t go on.
Yet, that’s when I see you most clearly,
And feel your presence most closely.
Come to me with your strength in my weariness,
Fill me up with your power in my weakness,
Comfort me with your presence in my loneliness.
Amen
“Lord, you bless those who live with you and surround them with your favor like a shield.” (Psalm 5: 12)
No matter what you may face in this world God’s love is greater.
Father,
Thank you for your love and power which surrounds me like a shield,
And is greater that anything I may face,
Filling me with joy that goes beyond understanding.
Surround me with your love and power,
Fill me with your confidence and joy,
Let me see your blessings beyond imagination.
Amen
“Lord, you protect and shelter those you love; and they love and rejoice in you.” (Psalm 5: 11)
Challenges may surround you but God’s love will shelter you.
Lord,
Challenges surround me and those who might hurt me,
Thank you that you shelter me from them all,
And lead me through them in your joy.
Protect and shelter me whatever I face,
Fill me with your confidence and joy,
Let me see your power and rejoice in your love.
Amen
“Those who live in a relationship with you, Lord, will be filled with happiness. They will sing with joy forever.” (Psalm 5: 11)
The secret of happiness is not in achieving it but being filled with it.
Father,
I have so many reasons I might not be happy,
Yet, in you I have joy that goes beyond understanding,
That fills me with happiness beyond the ordinary.
Fill me with your miraculous joy,
Help me to live every day immersed in it,
And in the happiness that flows from it.

“Lord, lead me in your righteousness; because of my enemies make your path straight. (Psalm 5: 8)
You may be surrounded by enemies but God surrounds you with his unconquerable love.
Lord,
Sometimes it feels like I’m surrounded by enemies,
Yet, I know, instead, that I’m surrounded by your power.
And your love which can never be defeated.
Surround me with your protection,
Fill my life with your loving power,
And my heart with your peaceful confidence.

“Because of your limitless love I am invited to enter your house.” (Psalm 5: 7)
We deserve to dwell outside but God, in his love, invites each of us in.
Father,
Thank you that you have invited me to live with you,
I don’t deserve it and can never earn it,
But your love never excludes only invites.
Let me live with you in your great house,
Today, so I may see your abundant blessings,
And tomorrow, so I may experience them forever.

“Lord, in the morning you hear my voice, as I lay out my requests before you and wait expectantly for you to answer.” (Psalm 5: 3)
Every morning is a fresh new day filled with the expectation of God’s new blessings.
Lord,
As I begin this new day,
One filled with challenges and opportunities,
I know you are with me and look expectantly for your blessings.
Be with me today in all of your power,
Fill up my needs with all of your gifts,
Fill me with expectation so I may see your realization.

“I will lie down and sleep peacefully because, Lord, you keep me safe and secure.” (Psalm 4: 8)
Peaceful sleep is a gift from God when you rest in his promised power.
Father,
So many worries assault my mind at times,
Yet, you promise to protect and guide me through them all,
And the peaceful sleep that flows from that promise.
Fill me with confidence in your love and power,
The peace that flows out of it,
And the restful sleep that results from it.
Amen
“Lord, let your light shine on me. You have filled my heart with your joy.” (Psalm 4: 6-7)
In the midst of darkness God’s light shines brightest bringing inexplicable joy with it.
Father,
When I walk through the darkness,
You bring me your light so I may see,
And fill me with that light so I may rejoice.
Fill my darkness with your light,
Fill my heart with your joy,
And help me to rejoice in them both.
Amen
“The Lord has chosen as his own the one who walks with him. He hears me and responds when I call to him.” (Psalm 4: 3)
No matter how distant God may seem he is right beside you hearing your prayers.
Lord,
Sometimes you seem so far away,
Yet, I know you are with me continually,
Listening to my prayers and acting on my desires.
When I feel you are far from me,
Help me to come back to you,
Let me feel your presence and see your power.
Amen
